Did you know that certain emergency protective measures taken to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic may now be reimbursed to state, local, tribal and territorial governments, and specific private, non-profit organizations under the federal government’s Public Assistance (PA) program

That is if they are done at the direction or guidance of public health officials and fall under the eligible emergency medical care activities under the President’s COVID-19 declarations. 

Per the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), these include, but are not limited to: 

  • Triage and medically necessary tests and diagnosis related to COVID-19 cases
  • Emergency medical treatment of COVID-19 patients
  • Use or lease of specialized medical equipment necessary to respond to COVID-19 cases
  • Purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), durable medical equipment, and consumable medical supplies necessary to respond to COVID-19 cases
