As FEMA’s guiding principles for emergency management’s exercise programs, the 2013 Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program has served America well. Now, six years later, it’s time to incorporate the lessons learned and best practices of practitioners from across the country, and make a few improvements. To get the process started, FEMA began an open review of the 2013 HSEEP doctrine on July 1, 2019.
Per FEMA, a critical element of the HSEEP review process will be direct engagement with state, local, tribal and tribal governments, federal government partners, and other key stakeholders. That’s why the Agency is seeking to get HSEEP practitioners involved early on through a series of one-hour webinars during the month of July 2019. The schedule is as follows:
Monday, July 8 – 4:00 PM EDT
Wednesday, July 10 – 1:00 PM EDT
Friday, July 12 – 9:00 AM EDT
Monday, July 22 – 4:00 PM EDT
Wednesday, July 24 – 1:00 PM EDT
Friday, July 26 – 9:00 AM EDT
You can join these webinars by visiting FEMA Adobe Connect or by dialing in at 1-800-320-4330, Pin: 504024#.
Your input as an exercise practitioner is invaluable to this process for a number of reasons. But, perhaps most importantly, it will ensure the review (and update) to HSEEP doctrine, corresponding documents, and the HSEEP training course best meets the needs of the whole community.
